• John Howe:
  Best known for his Tolkien Artwork. Mr. Howe has other wonderful drawings and paintings. Also, check out his artbook Myth and Magic.
• Ted Nasmith:
  Another Tolkien artists. Unless I'm very much mistaken (which is highly likely), Mr. Nasmith is the official artist of the Tolkien Estate (or, at least, the closest thing to an official artists they have).
